I've looked at the details for "stated value," and "agreed value." Stated value just means that the owner self appraised, and the insurance company is willing to take the money. Better look into the details of your policy. "Agreed value" is based on an appraisal that the insurance company agrees to abide by, and for which they charge an appropriate premium. mcneely ---- Stuart MacMillan <stuartmacm@gmail.com> wrote: > Talk to your agent about a "stated value" rider. But, using asking price to convince insurance adjusters would be a stretch, so far as the adjuster is concerned. The adjuster would want proof that those prices are realized, not just asked. GoWesty has a program where they will work with you and the adjuster to get a proper adjustment in case of a total. Of course, GoWesty wants salvage rights. > > Does anyone have actual experience with getting a proper adjustment from an insurance company? I continue to carry full coverage on my camper, since the cost is pretty low, but have doubts that I will, if needed, realize a reasonable settlement. And of course, given my absolutely perfect driving skills ( ;-0 ) have a lot more likelihood of having to deal with someone else's insurance adjuster than mine. > > mcneely > > ---- Roger Whittaker <rogerwhitt1@gmail.com> wrote: > > dear noticed > > > > that "I noticed that the top does not seem to fit properly." ... is > > most likely a sloppy job of packing the canvas into place - it is also > > very likely the patch required for the top as noted in the description > > - will multiply in size and or number every time one of the non westie > > sorts opens and closes the top with out regard for the canvas - > > > > I think it is great to see retail asking price up where it belongs at > > another dealership besides go westy - i suggest that all those who > > like to have records to show insurance adjusters - grab a screen shot > > of this with details so if you are required to justify to an adjuster > > advising the writing of a 1500$ cheque - you will have some legs to > > stand on besides the premium go westy stuff - > > > > it always surprises me when a decent vehicle is listed at retail > > prices - every one points at the pictures and nit pics - then when in > > the event of a wreck - hue-n-cry goes up - that adjuster offered > > kelly book pricing or blue book pricing or some other invented scale > > that has nothing to do with the "value" of the van - insurance is not > > for value - insurance is for compensation of replacement cost of same > > - i wish the van listed in Maryland was stickered at twice as much ... > > > > anyway not even close to friday - for this kind of roger driven > > silliness > > > > regards > > > > > > On Wed, Jul 17, 2013 at 6:59 AM, Dave Mcneely <mcneely4@cox.net> wrote: > > > > > What is the "Gary Lee rear rack"?
