Junk it. Too many Vanagons clogging up the roads anyway.

Or, maybe try getting the injectors cleaned. Good spray patterns promote better combustion. You could try a miracle-in-a-can fix, like Seafoam. How old are your plugs and ignition components? Did you do a spark intensity test? Compression test?

Lots of stuff to tinker with on these old vans...
