I've serviced a lot of electronics for a living.
I recently spilled some wine on an analog audio mixer (don't ask,
alchohol was involved, obviously). Crackle, sputter, hiss. Rinsed it in
distilled water, dried overnight in low low oven, works like new.
Most electronic components can tolerate washing with distilled water and
then full drying but some parts, notably electromechanical parts like
potentiometers and relays which are not sealed may never dry fully, so
those get removed from the circuit board before washing. Cell phones
don't have such parts but I don't know whether their screens are
bothered by water.
Fortunately I keep a bottle of distilled water in the van, primarily for
topping off my cabin battery should it need it, but it would be handy in
case I drop my cell phone into the stew or something. Alcohol is
frequently involved.
