For a guaranteed high quality self-fusing tape. Check at a plumbing or deep-well pump supplier/shop. Self-fusing tape has been used for years to water-proof the high voltage wire connections to a deep well pump. Often submerged under 100's of feet of water pressure… I still have a leftover roll I used in ~1982 to install a new pump into my drilled well. The tape is still flexible and seals to itself..

NB for longevity sake. Best to cover the self-fusing tape with a quality electrical or gorilla tape from the elements…

The cost… I haven't a clue as I'm still using my roll from 1982… Gads, I'm a luddite…
