Just a little diode leakage, nothing to worry about. The EVC has a built in charger you can't even access without taking half the cabinets out. I just always plugged in the van when I got home, and the Trojan deep cycle from the Winnebago factory was 10 years old and still fine when I sold it. (Auxiliary Battery, DC Fridge) In noting that each of my onboard permanent battery chargers draw a small amount of current when not charging, I put my ultimate cleverness to work during my last trip and disconnected the charger from the fridge battery. Clever me. Well guess who forgot to re-connect it before hooking up to shore power when I got home? I almost sent Truckfridge an email asking why my fridge died! OTOH, I had terrible thoughts of "oh I parked on a slight angle! It got too hot in my van!" I thought maybe I'd killed my fridge. Glad I didn't invest a lot in the battery (~ 100$ IIRC) Battery got down to 11.15 Volts so it seems that auto cutoff feature on the TF is a very useful feature. Current "back drain" on my Genius 7200 is rated at < 5 mA. My concern was unjustified! Over 3 days (which is about how long my newer group 27 lasted on fridge use only, daytime temps in the 80's F), thats, like, uh, 180 mA over 36 hours. What was I worried about? ;) I guess my point is that for anyone else considering back drain effects of a given charger, even with a larger charger, maybe they'd still be looking at much less than 1 Amp over a 36 hour period? Neil.
