How about one with Mad Magazine's mascot....Alfred E. Neuman, the "What, me worry?" guy driving along in a Vanagon... Me, I no longer worry much about breakdowns of any kind...I think I have had some epic ones already and survived em ok. and I have certainly driven along in blissful ignorance of potential catastrophic failure for many many miles.. My Vanagon, I especially don't have much concern because it is so simple to fix...Now put me in a brand newish car with traction control, electronic keys, four wheel steering and ABS/LSD/OBD whatever the heck....and when something goes wrong with one of those....I'd be reaching for my bank card after a flatbed to the 'automotive tech'....I think they've done that, making vehicles really really complex, so that we'll buy the Extended Warranty and toss the car when it's a couple of years old because changing the spark plugs is more expensive than a new car.....well....slight exaggeration... Now if I routinely drove through nasty urban areas I might worry a bit more about breaking down...Wouldn't want to have a problem on the LA freeways or downtown Detroit...but I avoid those areas...
