Your 87 Westy never had AC or is it broken-missing? Probably the cheapest solution is to find the original pieces from one and install what you can yourself. There are aftermarket under dash solutions. The better ones can also get pricey. The original equipment ones are not that hard to install if you get all the cabinet pieces.

Ok, the family has put their feet down. There were too many hot times in our last trip. (Got up to 105F at one point.) windows open, not much help. I need to cool my '87 Westy. While on the road.

Is it realistic or reasonable to try to install an AC in her?

Any recommended solution?

Thinking about the evaporative cooler. Pros or Cons? Recommended models? Where could I get one not on line? Saw one from GoCool, anyone else see this?

If I can't cool the van down, then I will be traveling alone. Your help is appreciated!

Jeremy
