The radiator fan is supposed to turn on when the AC compressor is running, so that's probably what you're hearing.

Now that I have installed the new AC switch I have three fan speeds. What I notice though is that in each speed - low-medium-high iif I rotate the temperature control to the point where the compressor kicks in I get a moderately loud whiring sound - is that the radiator fan kicking in? And is it correct that the radiator fan should kick in while the compressor is on?
