Brought up was the evaporator cooler that uses water. These do work well in dry, arid country. Lived n New Mexico and cooled my house with one. But it's the pits in a humid climate. Gotta have the dry air to get the evap cooling effect. Because of the mobility of a vehicle - an air-conditioner is really the only way to go.
