I had the same problem, never went over 3/4 full and dropped well below the red zone when empty. Useless.

David could just cut and paste links to his responses from the archives for nearly every question anyone ever asks. But since he likes the personal touch, I'll do it for him: http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind1304D&L=vanagon&P=R90

Everything checked out electrically for me, so ordered the guage from Van Café for $36 and all is fixed. I have a tach, so taking that gauge out is tricky, and I broke the needle even with the advanced spoon technique because it was on so tight. I was able to fix it though, but I did not want to do that three or four times to calibrate it. If you have a 10v source, you could bench calibrate it with the resistors David mentioned (or another sender). It was worth the $37 to me. (Early gauge is $51 though.)

Hi gang! I recently installed new fuel tank and sending unit and with 12 gallons approximately of fuel its showing about half a tank. Is there some adjustment I can do to calibrate it? Velma 82 na diesel westy
