Rocket - that lip/rail is THE source of noise from my slider. 2 screws attach the panel to the body; this you know. like any others, undisturbed for years, they may have taken a set. a drop or 2 of PB Blaster can't hurt. in my case it's a shop towel for overspray or a few drops into the cap and a small paint brush (designated 'tool'). please follow up on this repair as my paranoia is in remission since joining this list - mike      =(:D) ________________________________ From: Rocket J Squirrel <camping.elliott@GMAIL.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Sunday, July 28, 2013 8:17 PM Subject: Re: UHMW tape for sliding door track Jim, I believe you DID find the problem. ONWARD: Remove the sliding door cover so I can apply the tape to the side-panel runner track. The procedure on Bentley 58.3 ("Sliding door cover, removing") looks pretty straightforward. Any gotchas I should watch out for? -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore.
