I am in the process of replacing the engine fuel lines in my 86 Vanagon 2.1 GL.  Any recommendations on what process should be used for cleaning the fuel injectors once they are removed.


I did a quick search on YouTube and did find some videos that show the use of a 12 VDC wall wart transformer, a momentary switch, and a syringe/hose that is used to hold brake cleaner fluid.  The process that was demonstrated showed forward and reverse cleaning of the fuel injectors.  Is this a recommended process.


Is there any polarity concerns with the fuel injectors, and is 12 VDC acceptable?  One video showed the use of just a 1.5 VDC battery.  What is the usual voltage used to feed the injectors?
