I've had this addition now for a couple of years...the Car Organizer from Duluth Trading Co.
I realized yesterday as I was heading in to town for some errands that it's one of the best things I have added to my low-top westie interior all purpose 84 Vanagon. It hangs over the headrest on my passenger front seat (most of the time) and holds things I use and need to keep close at hand. It has a wide strap with a quick adjust pack buckle. If I have a passenger, it gets rotated around to the rear of the seat's backrest. It's become my "office" holding my job folders and clipboards, lumber invoices, pens and thermos, an extra jacket, maps or instruction booklets, phone, whatever...If I have to go inside, all my stuff is in the one 'bag', it snaps loose and you sling it over your shoulder. When something is needed from the parked van you just open the passenger door and everything is right there, at eye level in the Car Organizer. It keeps things off the dash, I don't have to climb in and rummage around between the seats in my "console box". If you have expensive and tempting items aboard and park somewhere sketchy you can just grab that bag and take all your valuables out of the van. Motel-ing it lets you bring your 'office' inside the room in one easy bag. These are sturdy bags, very well made and durable. I have no interest in that company other than as a happy owner of some of their stuff, including my very handy Car Organizer. Check it out in the link Don Hanson |
