I'm presuming you're talking about laterally, across the either front or rear corners, not due to vertical pressure? Since I took my pop top off to do this, the tight corner situation occurred on the bottom. I just held the top up with a 2X4 so the canvas was very loose and not pressured.

I cut the bead in all 4 corners, per instructions. Has no bearing on how it fits and seals, but DOES allow some "stretch" at the tight corner. I used tin cutters for that.
