Tried to get the bottle from my local VW dealer (a real piece of work, that dealer. refuses to even look up parts for the camper, declaring it to be an "obsolete" vehicle).

The invoice for the bottle from Kerr Automotive Imports lists the manufacturer for the bottle as being "VW," part number 025121403B.

This parts supplier had the bottle and water level sensor in stock. The latter cost was $8.97, manufacturer also listed as "VW," part number 251919372.

Who knows anything in this day and age, though? I also hope for longevity for both the bottle, and for you and me.

The coolant bottle cracked at the neck this year. That is 22 or 23 years without trouble. I got a new bottle from a local parts vendor, for $35.75. Maybe in 20 years I will need another. So, I don't think I need to spend well in excess of $200 for an aluminum bottle. Perhaps, in fact, RMW is pulling our collective legs? mcneely > ------- > Caution: leg pulling follows? > > Dave, I do in all sincerity wish your new FLAPS $35.74 bottle a great 22-23 years without trouble. > I bought a new one from my local FLAPS for about the same price a few years ago.
