So..... ran fridge off battery for ~ 12 hours. Connected Genius charger. It showed battery at 50% Older "intelligent" 2/8/12 Amp charger showed it at 80% (no hard science here!) But.... Fridge off, connected old charger, set it to 12 Amps on "Deep Cycle". In 1-2 hours, charger showed battery at 90% charger outputting 15.xx Volts. (confirmed with a multimeter). Voltage seemed high so I lowered output to 8 Amps. My Genius however, would not output as high a voltage fridge running or not. We'll see if this did a better job charging the battery. I suspect it did. Had thought to use old charger as 110VAC - 12VDC converter, but it's loud. Considered mounting it in space beside the water tank to cut down on noise but I'm not sure there'd be enough ventilation. Neil.
