We regularly do these jobs for $4,500, not icluding the paint and other materials and parts. The job is done from the gutter down. If it's a normal van, the top has to be done too. Every job has the front totally renewed, sanded down to the metal and re-done with layers of primers. There is no other way to fix all the rock chips properly. The removal of the kitchen unit is included. The removal of windows, if new seals are installed, or the cording under the old seals are included. Of course, all the removable fittings are taken off, including the spray nosols. Door jams are painted, power mirrors are painted. Gas tank is removed and cleaned, de-rusted and painted with it's guard included. After the job is done, it's not possible to detect if it's original or not. It's a lot of work, but in a shop where it's regularly done, it's not a new thing and goes faster. I am in Washington State, just North of Seattle. The customer bought the panel from BD, so he supplied it, not the paint shop (Everest Collision, State St. Salt Lake City). I helped remove all the "furniture" cabinetry from the van. All the windows and seals were removed and new seals put in by the shop. Rear hatch and side slider seals replaced as well. Again. owner bought all these seals prior to taking the van to Everest. They also removed the camping fixtures from the driver side panel below the windows and the rear hatch wiper, and welded a sheet metal plate over those holes. Did a great job. no trace of anything ever being there. Great job by the shop. They put a painted-on plasticized coating on the front panels of the van to protect from rock chips. Bob= |
