Tell me about it. I finally had to bring all my paint work "in-house". We
strip the vans (windows, trim, handles, etc.). Remove the top and luggage
rack. Then I have my body guy come in, as-needed, on evenings and weekends.
When ready, I have a couple of different painters who come in to do final
prep before I haul the vans to a rented booth for final spray. Their work
is beautiful, and I can get a Westy completely painted in about 2 weeks.
Before, I had 2 or 3 paint shops that I would deal with. Quickest
turn-around was probably 4 weeks. More commonly, 6 to 8. The work wasn't
nearly as nice and it was normal to bring it back for touch ups.
Cheers,
Jeff

So typical! What is it with paint guys? Have they been sniffing too many
fumes? I can't even begin to tell you all of the similar stories that I
have had or heard about from others....

for $700, eh?

If anyone wants to give examples of work done and cost I'd love to hear it.
Please just reply with examples of work done and not opinions or hearsay
