I was hoping to get this done early this morning before the temps here in Phoenix hit 100. It's now 99. Can someone tell me how to remove and replace the Temp II sensor on my 1987 Vanagon. I can see the unit and I have a replacement but how do I remove the old one. Neither Bentley nor Haynes manuals says how. Online, Ken Wilford's instructions just say 'pull the clip'. How?Do I need a special tool to do this? He also says to have the new unit ready with the o-ring fitted to minimize coolant loss. Well the Bus Depot replacement I have (Meyle) did not come with an o-ring. Does the new sensor just push in or is it screwed in? Incidentally although the Meyle box has German writing it is marked 'Made in PR of China'. David (1987 Wolfsburg)
