This is an area where an added relay can make a big difference. Simply installing a relay down by the stock horn can result in a much louder and more reliable honk. No new wires need to be run. Dead simple.

That is right, the stock horn can be made much better with a $4 relay. The stock wiring path for the horn is very long and relies on the steering wheel horn contact ring to carry the horn current on the ground leg. This makes the horn less reliable and reduces the loudness.

Use the horn button ground leg wire to trigger the relay you mount down by the horn instead of having it ground the horn itself like stock. No new wires need to be run between the horn area and the dash area.
