Included angle is about 43 degrees, so each mm extra width will make the belt rise about 1.25 mm in the sheave. As long as the side of the belt stays in full contact with the sheave this will result in lower required belt forces because of the larger contact radii, but as soon as the edge starts to rise out of the sheave the contact area decreases and requires larger tensions to maintain grip.
