You can pull that clip out with your fingers or with a pair of pliers. It's
either a metal or plastic clip, U-shaped. It keeps the sensor in place by
catching a flange on the unit with a slight pressure to keep it from
leaking. You can do it quickly enough to swap out the o-ring in plenty of
time not to lose too much coolant. You shouldn't lose more than a pint or
so out the hole. You could also have someone else stick a rag up to the
hole so you could take your time, put on a little sealant, etc.
