I think you will be hard pressed to find a modern gear lube that will actually corrode our synchronizers. Maybe if you have some water to react with some chlorine based additives it may be a problem. Seriously this is not a current problem.

Gear Lube vs Transmission lube You need to really read the labels many GEAR lubes (even synthetic) are not suitable for synchromesh trannies or transaxles as the additives eat up the brass synchros
