The temp sensor and the temp sensor connector should be blue. If you have a new sensor and new o-ring ready just leave the harness connector on the old one while you pull the old sensor out and put in the new sensor right away to reduce coolant loss. Then fiddle with getting the connector off the old one while it is in your hand. If the connector doesn't have the raised metal wire release that gets pushed in to release then you may have to pry the ends of the metal wire piece out to release the connector. Again, doing this while you have it out where you can see it is the way to go.

I hope you are not just swapping parts as a shot in the dark. The quality of some new parts is so low that you are much better off leaving a working original part unless you have a good reason to change it. There are still new genuine Bosch versions of the sensors around but a certain other brands may be questionable.
