Here in my part of the world (NE Oregon) hitting a deer is a regular occurrence. My agent (Progressive) recommended "comprehensive" coverage. Costs about $10/yr over liability and it covers "hitting a deer." Full coverage on my '82 and '84 vans might be more than they're worth. My agent was very specific though. It covers 'hitting a deer, cow, elk, elephant, etc." but it does not cover driving into a tree avoiding said creature. Hit the animal. A neighbor hit a cow elk a couple weeks ago in their SOB minivan. Cow elk = the mass of a cow on legs that put that mass windshield high. They're okay. The minivan? Boneyard. It's done. Jim |
