We've been on the road now for almost 5 weeks and stayed in a lot of different types of places. The parking lot style RV parks are paved filing cabinets but they do have advantages if you're just overnighting. They're quick to get in and out, if you use reviews to pick they have clean showers, good wifi and Laundry facilities.

We stayed at the Willits KOA in California and although i hate to admit it, it was a highlight of the trip. Since we're travelling with an 11 month old and a dog it was a lot of fun. They did an ice cream social, had mini golf, a petting zoo, playground, splash pad, pool, hot tub, adults hot tub, a wild west show, fishing pond... and an outdoor movie. Downside...it's a parking lot where we got to share 1 tree with our neighbour. Our site would of taken 3 westys with awnings out.

Flip side of that was the enchanted something or other outside of Albuquerque that rates very well but was just a dust parking lot. I had to tarp the side just to block the light from the street light beside us.

Another highlight overnight was on a fellow list members property. Super nice people and a beautiful piece of land.

Lots of reviews to come at my site laidbackdad.com although I'm about 20 days behind right now:)
