It sounds as if the seller didn't know what the real value of the van was.
I can't believe you took advantage of the poor guy, Stephen. Ha...just
kidding. I once bought a gorgeous, in very good shape Thing for 600.00. I
wondered aloud about it among friends and they felt that if that was the
asking  price,  just pay it....that was enough convincing for me. I jumped
on it! After a few years of fun, I sold it for a huge profit. I still feel
a little ashamed....sniff
