A vibration that changes with throttle is almost always driveline related. The gear shifter rattling can indicate a problem inside the transmission. In 3rd gently keep forward pressure on the shifter and work the throttle. If the shifter pushes back under load you have a bad main shaft ball bearing and/or the gear carrier housing is shot.
Dennis,

Hi All,
Nice to see everyone at this Sun AM Cafe!
I don't post very often, so sorry if this one is a little long, slow &
live (CSN&Y;o)
Just some thoughts on my vibration problems,
and the one I am currently having;
As, I've developed a easy, steady vibration
upon accelerating or when applying torque,
usually above 30 MPH, even on a smooth freeway.
Along with this vibration, the shifter Jiggles (or is it Giggles? ;o)
when applying or letting off of the gas.
Since this is a new to me 91 Westy with 112K,
I've come up with a list of a half dozen maintenance items I will need to
address.
Starting with thoroughly checking the motor and trans mounts.
I will then move on to the CV's / Wheel bearings, Brakes.
And, if that doesn't do it I'll have to pull the tranny & redo
the clutch system. (I've changed the tranny fluid)
Also the fellow that mentioned shocks.
This sounds like it should be on my list as well.
Oh cracky may as well do the wheels, springs & tires
while I'm at it !!!???
(why my wife calls these vehicles my sickness ;o) heh heh...
Turning 65 next week & time to relax, travel the country,
instead of turning so many wenches !
What a long strange trip (these buses) it's been!
( I've just got to get down to ( ONE ) bus !!!
( Help! I've slid out from under my bus on my Creeper & cant get up !!!
;o)
best,
John C
(hiding out in the forest)
PS: thanks to Larry & Dale & their wives for a real nice time up at
Dosewalips!
PS:PS: My fear is that my Westys' vibration is that it's trying to
synchronise
with the vibrations of the universe & sail me out to sea !!!??? ;o)
