As far as I know the passenger van seat bases are longer. For survey 86 syncro passenger van has longer and more comfortable seat bases than my old 82 westy. I kept those seats when camperized the syncro. I only added the swivel set base to the passenger seat so the additional height of the swivel is not an issue in the drivers seat. I never or rarely swivelled the drivers set in my 82 westy. The longer seat base plus the additional height of the swivel might be an issue for driver ingress/egress. Oh and the seat base is thicker I think, on passenger van seats
