Here is how I test them: Take a drive down the highway. Watch the needle on the temp gauge. Wait for the van to fully warm up. Once the van is warmed up, turn on the front heater and the fan for it full blast. Watch your gauge needle. If the van was running extra warm or hot and now it cools down to about middle, it means that your radiator is clogged on the inside and you need a new radiator. The front heater core is acting as a mini radiator, and cooling the van down. The solution is to buy a new radiator and you should be good to go for many years to come.
