Yes done it. We used baseball bats on our Porsche fenders in order to make race tires go....The technique is to insert the bat between a tire and the fender, then roll the car backwards, making the tire roll the bat around the fender opening. Sounds pretty cave-man, eh? It worked though.

Couple of tips..find something that fits your vehicle's fenders...I've also used pipe, conduit and other round things, depending on the fit and how much you need to expand the opening. Have two people do it....one to control the bat and one to back up or go forward with the vehicle. Do it on a warm day so the paint doesn't crack....Start conservatively.
