Well, I was referring to VANAGON keys with reference to Steve.

If you just want to program your remote, I can tell you how to do that off-list. You will need 2 keys to accomplish this by yourself. As far as programming your car to accept the RFID on a new key, a fellow in Italy cracked the VW program and sells his VAG-Tacho software and dongle. Lots of pirated copies are coming out from eBay vendors in Southeast Asia for 1/10 the price. Most will NOT work on US VW cars. If you go to any of the watercooled VW events, there is often someone around who have VAG-Tacho and able to program your IMMO for under $10. Beats spending about 1/2 labor at VW Dealerships. A few will do it for free. Generally they charge.

So you have to bring the car to the locksmith. Even my local VW dealer does not do these late model VW keys. > > Jim > > > On Mon, Sep 16, 2013 at 5:35 PM, Ben <syncro@gmail.com> wrote: >> Send your code to Steve Sandlin and he can cut you a key. The cluster or more corectly, the IMMO needs to be told to recognize the RFID (Radio Frequency ID) in your new key. Think about it like a guest list in your favorite night club. If your name isn't in the list, the bouncer will kick you out even if you managed to initially sneak in. People who convert to TDI's or other IMMO equipped engines have been known to hide the original keys in their Vanagons or have someone disable the IMMO function in their ECU or instrument cluster. >> >> >> BenT >> sent from my electronic leash >> >> On Sep 16, 2013, at 3:16 PM, Stephen Grisanti <bike2vcu@yahoo.com> wrote:
