How old is the Hall Sender ? if it's original or has a bazillion miles on it, it's highly suspect. it's always good to have a known-good spare distrubutor of course, for self-rescue and troubleshooting purposes. it is characteristicof electronics to be worse with heat, work again later. Ecu is not subject to that in my experience though. run it with O2 disconnected, see what happens. I'm an old time very experienced mech, does that count ? got a tach ? what's it dowhile still in gear but producing zero power ? if it still shows a reading, that implies igntion is working. I've been know to do things like run with a timing light flashing where I can see it ..so if ign does stop I can 'see' it. Same for an indicator light on the fuel pump .. or running with a fuel pressure gauge in the back where you can see it. think of some treecks mahn.
