I would return it. The only way to get bad parts off the market is to make the suppliers eat them. Without feedback they have no need to change.

The threads on the tank will not pull down the cap it feels like  they are rolling when tighten them I got the same result with another new cap when I tried to secure it. I know that it seals on the top gasket but the mechanical action is not allowing it to pull it down without the Teflon tape. Bill Witz 84 Westy
