Are you having a problem or expecting one? Your trip should be a fairly good indication of what will happen on the way back. As a Vanagon owner you should be able to the basic checks on your own. Check the fluids including looking for signs of leaks. Take a look at coolant and fuel hoses. Leaks, bulges, distortions. Cooling fan working? Tires, condition and pressure. If you find something then you may need to get help dealing with it.

List members, Sorry if this is off topic  or to grumpy for some:

I've been a list member for a few years now and benefited greatly (probably more than most) from this list. and helped  a few other as well.   Now I've got a problem - I'm in Florida (1500 miles from home) taking care of my dying father and need help. A while ago a list member ask for mechanics in the Lakeland area, I pmailed and ask that he let me know what he found because I need to have my van checked out before I make my return trip. He initially said he would let me know what he found out. Since then, despite a few requests he has not answered my emails. This is contrary to my past experiences with the list. I would like to have my van checked out before I return to Maine. Who, in the Lakeland area, can check out my beloved Wu-Wei for the return trip north?

Thanks so much & sorry if I've offended anyone but I need help.

Dake
