Spoken like a true Canuck eh?

Is that quoted from the Digifant Pro Training manual? Ya maybe a little ambiguous. And, I was reading all that early-ish am yesterday. But. Obviously if any of those systems are being used (i.e. IS system or O2) the ECU is using input from the Temp II sensor. On P 18 ("System Components") in Appendix B in my new Bentley, I don't see any mention of something similar. But elsewhere in that section, there are several references to coolant temps and the sensor.

IF the sensor on my Jetta swap is sometimes getting a little hotter than normal, this might explain the consistent hunt for idle when engine restarted after being run up to temp. Especially if it's run hard up a steep long grade on a hot day. Then the "hunt" is much more pronounced.

When I pulled into Anthony Lakes OR after climbing the steep hill coming from Baker City OR with high-ish ambient temps, my fuel pump was making a lot of noise and when restarting the engine, it would not idle 100% properly until I held the RPM's a little higher for about 20" or so. In those scenarios, it has even stalled at idle.

Not big deal but my thought is that if I'm climbing a grade, even in 2nd or 3rd gear at higher RPM's, in theory, I should be moving more coolant. The temp gauge doesn't move much but will edge higher in that case. But..... as Scott infers, I should measure the actual temp at the head etc.

Neil.
