That size tire (225/50-16) only has a load rating of 91, (standard) and 96
XL versions. It is also shorter than the original. Not a good fitment.
If there is rubbing on the front with the 225/60-16 it is usually at the
lower corner of the wheel well lip. This can easily be rolled or re-shaped
to get more clearance. The other concern is clearance with the sliding door.

On the Van cafe web site, they do offer both tire models but warn against
rubbing with the 225 unless it is fitted with raising springs/shocks.. Since
I lowered the van with the lowering spring, that could not be a fit... Do
you think that I should be looking for 225-50-16 tires... If they come in XL
?
