If the sway bar itself is not 1) oversized and therefore too stiff 2) defective and too stiff or 3) or either it or the drop links are installed wrong way around as to hit either the rack links or some other part of the suspensions, I think it would be a freak accident. Find out where he got his parts, though, ,so you can try to find out if others are having the same problem.

Then consider this: two broken drop links on the same car in a single lifetime? Weird in itself, points maybe to abuse of the car.
