it's real easy to do it like this...
position engine on # 1 TDC to fire ......and not distributor points to
notch on side of dist.
Adust # 1 valves.
Rotate engine one half turn backwards ( counterclockwise on the crank ,
and it's handy to mark the flywheel with a spot of bright touch paint,
so you can see at a glance when 2 and 4 are on tdc ) ...
then adjust # 2 cyl.
then another 1/2 turn backwardds ..
adjust 3,
one more 1/2 turn backwards , then adjust 4.
on a level/horizontal engine ..assemble the rocker arms onto the
pushrods to there's just a little tension on the pushrods ..
reach down into the push rod tube with a long slender screwdriver ...
you'll feel the end of the push rod drop into the center of the lifter.
keep doing this untl you have them all seated..
eyeball in there with a small inspection flashlite to visually confirm
each push rod is centered in the lifte.r
and evenly tighten down the rocker assembly .
