I was also having an issue with the blinking red light, until after trying all of the suggested remedies, I noticed that if I turn the key on and wait 5 seconds, before Starting the engine, the light stops blinking. If I don't wait the 5 seconds the light blinks. Simple as that! Hope this works for you, Bob A Massachusetts 86 GL
