Jerking and other weird engine actions during deceleration usually relate to
a driveline or maybe motor mounting problem. If the engine idles, runs, and
accelerates smoothly I would look at and rule out the driveline first. A bad
pinion bearing can cause this. Tranny time.

I follow this list dailey and know to search the archives before asking
BUT,I have searched through the archives and have not found the exact
description of my problem so here it is:I have a 90 MV with stock 2.1 and
manual transmission with 157,333 mi.  When I am driving at any speed and let
off of the gas, the engine jerks substantially.  If I push in the clutch it
goes away. If I accelerate it goes away.  If I am driving at a steady speed
it does not happen unless I barley start to let off the gas.  It happens in
all gears.  I can put on the cruise and it will jerk a little when it
accelerates/decelerates.  It idles fine and goes through all gears with
normal acceleration fine.Any advice would be great.  Thanks for all of the
great info over the past three years that I have been foolowing,
