Subject: temp coolant sensor/engine bog

Well this one took a while to isolate the bog down and rough running engine but I think I have isolated the bog/lurch/bog etc. By just removing the temp coolant sensor clip smooths out the idle considerably so I replacing the sensor/O ring. I found the Bosch match at local NAPA dealer.

Question; The Female clip is in sad shape, some one has gooped it up with black silicone sealer as its cracked and worn out. Can I replace this with some good quality insulated clips or is that clip a specialized fitted animal? I searched to find and replace the clip but have yet to find such. Does anyone have one or suggested a fix? Any and all help as always is appreciated. Thanks DS
