What I've found really handy is to have a universal plug on the output line of my 150w solar panel. Those two prong plugs that are incorporated into battery tenders, chargers, etc... That way I can use my solar panel for various applications using different ends without re wiring the connections...... I use an end with battery cable clamps for loose batteries, I use a lighter plug end when going into my van or another car's system. You could hardwire a female end of one of those connectors hanging off almost any where from your vanagon and not have to open a window to insert the lighter plug....Hey, I gotta do that before my winter's journey....Hang a pig tail out on both sides somewhere unobtrusive...Most of those come with false plug/caps to keep the contacts clean. LIke maybe directly off both batteries, coming out in the wheel wells or something...Hmmm.
