Subject: Camper question

Allo I noticed that my1986 camper stove and sink cabinet does not come with a fold down chrome plate above the burners which can be used for instance for drying dishes. So it does not like the one in Eurovans for instance, be used to cover the burners and have a double purpose, which in my opinion is very useful. On early models like mine, it is bolted to the cabinet lid and serve only as a protection from flames and heat. Could someone tell me if on the earlier vanagon Westfalia models (87-91) that plate is fix or is it like the one on the Eurovan ? Did someone try to install one from an Eurovan and install it on a Vanagon Westy? Thanks...Alain Vancouver BC
