right on man. Is this is your first foray into head R&R on a WBX? Never done it myself.

I think the term "valve preload" should help direct your archive search if no one chimes in.

If a lifter is "lazy" it can take some time to pump up. There is a pre fill method for the lifters but I don't recall the details. There may even be posts from the esteemed Boston Bob in the archives on this.
