When an inner CV joint's grease is runny it is because the transmission oil has leaked into it. There is a rubberized plug in the center of the CV flanges on the tranny. The plug is just tapped into place to cover a circlip access hole and the plug can work loose if a bad CV on that side has caused the axle to jump back and forth a lot. Then gear oil will mix with the CV grease.

I don't know what it is about the right side outer CV but that is the one that seems to sometimes develop loose bolts over time.
