If it is quiet with the clutch pedal pushed and noisy with it released than it has to be a main shaft bearing or something in that area . If it were quiet when released and noisy when pushed I would say throw out bearing . What ever it is I will find out in a few weeks as my Syncro box is doing the same thing . This is a Rebuilt Trans by a known and respected builder . As I have done ,you should do as well . Take it out of service and get it looked at . Luckily yours is a 2WD and they are not as expensive to fix . One thing for sure it will not get better by itself .
