I did something similar but with mostly complete scirocco interior. The crossing was from Windsor into Detroit. Honestly, I told them what I was doing. The border patrol officer simply repeated the information I gave him several times in different ways. By the end of it I was a bit put off by what seem like a game. In the grand scheme of things it was not a big deal. I had a receipt for what I got which he never asked for. I could see all I had in the back of the vanagon. I may have not mentioned the big bag of coffee crisp. For personal use off course. No paper work was involved.
