There are a number of options. I use the Caterpillar S.O.S. program. Amsoil and Blackstone labs are two the popular choices. Just google oil analysis. Basically you buy a kit and some method of drawing a sample. You don't want to take a sample from the drain plug as you will always pick up contaminates and may also get bad readings from the concentration of stuff at the bottom. The most common choice is a vacuum pump and sample tubs drawing oil from the dipstick tube. The kit will include a mailing container and it usually includes postage. Hey mail or e-mail or post the results on a site you log into. The kits often get less expensive if you buy in quantity. Figure $13 to $20 per test.

Hi lister's,

How would I go about getting a oil and or coolant analysis for my Bus?

I have only heard of doing this from this list and it is a completely new idea. Thanks.

Also, I'm having all fluids changed at the moment and have time to ask for samples if I hurry. What do I need and which fluids can be tested?
