It seems unlikely that a Vanagon would be targeted, even a Syncro. But that is a very nice one!

A vehicle that conspicuous seems unlikely to be stolen. Even taking it for parts seems unlikely unless the demand for the 4wd drive train is that great. I wonder if they are shipping them to other countries with lesser roads where the 4wd would be beneficial? Difficulty getting them out of the country would probably outweigh any profit though.
